As full-time liveaboards we all know that boat maintenance can basically be defined as fixing things in exotic locations. Suddenly the romantic image of you sailing off into the sunset is gone, the bilge is full of oil and your back-up chartplotter has stopped working. Folks are often surprised that as two girls, we too fix our own electrics, service our engine and rebuild mechanical parts when necessary. So here are some of those stories(!), along with some tips, how-tos and advice we’ve picked up along the way.
